My feature article on the Newspaper!

So I never thought (in my life) to write something fun for the most famous local newspaper here in our place. I was so happy when it got published! Thanks to my professor in journalism. He invited me to write about my Coming of Age day in Japan and so I did!  And there it is! My piece of happiness!

My Tokyo Disneyland Adventure! 東京ディズニーランド!

So me and Brother went to Tokyo Disneyland last January (Yeah ,I know I'm a bit late posting this, forgive me). It was winter and everyone was just so in a mood for an adventure! The trip was so awesome and unforgettable. I can't find the perfect words to describe how amazing the experience was. Come on, it's Disneyland, a place where happiness goes on and on and on! Huh, I will never forget that song during the parade.  The title was "Happiness is here" if I'm not mistaken. You might want to search in on youtube. The parade was so awesome! I waved at every Disney character and I feel like I transformed to something magical. The feel of being in that place is very different because it's like you're having a world of your own. I'll share to you some of our pictures and I hope you can get a gist of what Tokyo Disneyland looks like.

Tokyo Disneyland first entrance.

So when we reached the entrance we were like woah! The line was superb well considering that it's a holiday in Japan we just didn't really expect to be that long. Note: Please book a ticket ahead of time.

The main entrance of Tokyo Disneyland.

Me with Cinderella Castle.

Selfie fail.

This is a souvenir shop inside the castle. At first glance, I honestly thought that the man was a mannequin because of the glass. And I'm like, "It moved and there's a fire!" and he was actually busy making souvenir items. I really like this shop because it allows you to witness how the items were made.

Ready for our first ride adventure! The Star Tours! A must-try ride! This is for everyone who wants futuristic vibe.

Look! Lots of people going to space! Some came back and some unfortunately didn't. Just kidding!

Okay, so we were on the line and this robotic guy caught my attention. He's busy doing something. I don't know what this thing called or his name or whatsoever but I tried to talk to it and it did respond! I'm not kidding!

Welcome to ToonTown!

For me, the Toontown was the most creative mini-land we've been so far. I feel like a kid once again and everything is just full of colors. It mostly consists of houses with different sizes and shapes. Everything is just so fun to watch. There are fun rides too!

The Mini Coaster!

Ready for the next ride. The Space Mountain! And there's some promotions going on. Hahaha.

Me and my brother going up for a Space Mountain ride.

People patiently waiting for their turn. This is how the inside looks like. So futuristic.

Okay, so this ride was among the scariest ride. From the moment we entered the big hole we didn't know what to expect since it was very dark. I don't want to spoil what was it like but this ride is definitely for those who loves surprises. Ready your lungs for this one!

After the ride we strolled around and found Mrs. Incredible. Never missed my chance to take a picture. Click!

Here are some of the pictures from the parade.

                                                                   Disney Princesses

The final float of the parade: Mickey and Minnie Mouse! They never waved at me though but seeing them makes me feel so happy!

Strolled around again and saw Peter Pan. I wasn't able to take a picture with him since we're in hurry.

Snack break! You can see lots of restaurants and kiosks around the place and it's very tempting. It was kind of off-setting though because the line is super long. Many people are lining even just for a popcorn found around the corner. So in short you need a little patience for food in Disney but I got to tell you, they taste really good. My favorites so far were turkey stick and I forgot the name of the other one. It's a long stick coated with sugar and it has a mickey shape on it.  But please do explore more food as possible. Restaurants would be great but the lines were too long for us so maybe we'll try it next time.

Aye! Aye! Captain! So we went to Westernland and rode this big boat called Mark twain river boat to tour us around the forest full of live statues of deers and the like and explore us a bit about Native American culture. If you want to take a break from the noise I think this is the one I would recommend. The vibe is just so peaceful. A great time to relax.

Enjoying the sunset at the same time.

The wind is getting colder but the adventure goes on! So we went to Critter Country also one of the themed land of Disney. The main attraction here is called the Splash Mountain. We unfortunately lined for this for 45 minutes because the machine ran out of fast pass tickets and since it's already nearing 8 p.m. But of course the long wait paid off. It was my favorite ride and I'd be more than willing to try it again! You must try it just be ready to get wet. Hahaha!

Epic faces! Aaaaahhhhh!

So it's already late in the evening and the park is ready to close. We watched the fireworks display and took a picture of magnificent electric Cinderella castle before leaving.

See you again in the future Tokyo Disneyland!

My Japanese Article!

So I went to Japan to experience the Coming of Age Day and you might have seen my article about it above. In my stay there, I met some new friends at the Church of Machida and one friend invited me to write about my experience. She translated my writing to Japanese and I didn't expect it to be published on the Church's weekly paper. Though I could not read Japanese, still I was so happy!
